Dreaming Vast and Soft

December 30, 2025

What if the world looked radically different?

And not just any different, but the close-to-our-hearts kind of different.

When we shed the limits (I know this is hard!) on what we can imagine possible, and we imagine a world just from listening to our hearts, what would that world look like? For me, and I imagine, for most, it comes down to a few basic things, maybe even just one with a few details:

No matter where in the world any of us is born,

For me, both, to even access (remember, really [1]) that vision in the first place, and then stay connected to it over time, it brings up a lot of pain. Pain, because there is very most likely a huge gap between what we currently see in the world, and this vision that lives close to our hearts.

And so,

to not lie to ourselves about the current state of the world,

nor give up on the bigness of the vision what we want for the world,

nor burn-out ourselves and others in the attempt to force that vision upon our world,

we need a way to process all that spiritual pain that this will bring up.

For me, and I imagine for many, this means lots of crying. Crying, because it supports me to stay self-connected and to transform the pain into strength and energy.

I enjoy this line from a song I sometimes listen to [2], when the weight of the gap feels unbearable:

Every time I go into the darkness, I return with fistfuls of jewels.

Against all that we are learning in our culture (in particular as men), I believe that lots of crying is actually what we need to dream big, stay sane and grow strength to move towards that vision. And we for sure cannot do this as individuals, we will need support ;)
